Heads up: Your ALEKS version will use different numbers. The numbers in the practice below are different too — that way you're exercising the move, not memorizing one answer.

\(F = \tfrac{9}{5}C + 32\) going TO Fahrenheit: multiply first
Both are printed on the screen, so the only decision is which. Pick by the unit you are heading to: the formula that starts “C =” gives you Celsius. Then follow the order of operations exactly — the bracket comes before the fraction.
Common slips
(1) Used the wrong formula. Check which side of the equals sign your target unit is on. (2) Lost a sign. −4.2 − 32 is −36.2, not −28.2 or 27.8. A negative reading minus a positive number goes further negative. (3) Multiplied before subtracting. The bracket is not decoration.
