Final Exam

The Final Exam is cumulative and lives in ALEKS — same interface as every regular ALEKS assignment you've worked all term. It counts for 100 points, which is over a third of the course grade, so most of the week gets pointed at it.
Everything you need to prepare is already on the site. Every question type on the exam appears in the Final Exam Review in the same shape, only with different numbers. That review is 38 questions long and pulls from every topic — Q1-Q6 from Topic 1, Q7-Q12 from Topic 2, and so on. Work it question by question, using the walkthrough and interactive practice on each page. That's the exam preparation.
The single-most-effective use of exam week is working the Final Exam Review straight through, one topic block at a time. Q1-Q6 first (linear models — Topic 1). Q7-Q12 next (percent and conversions — Topic 2). Keep going. Each block is about six questions, so a topic per session is a real target.
When a block feels shaky, drop back to that topic's Mastery Check as a spot audit. Passing it in one attempt means the block is genuinely solid; missing anything sends you to the walkthrough for that specific question, not the whole topic. Mastery Checks are built to be short — that's the design.
Save the tools for last. Once the review questions land clean, use the Tax Bracket Calculator, Portfolio Glide Path, and any earlier sandbox linked from a review question to stress-test the intuition with new numbers. Twenty minutes with a sandbox catches gaps a fresh Q wouldn't, because you're driving the inputs.

Roughly two-thirds of the exam surface lives in this list. If you can plug into each family without hunting for the formula, the day gets a lot easier.
These are the boring ones that consistently matter more than students expect:
- Check Halo for your section's window. Timing, allowed attempts, and any proctoring specifics vary by section — your instructor's Halo announcement is the source of truth. Nothing on this page overrides that.
- Excel and a calculator are already how you've been working. If you've leaned on Excel for every DQ and MA, the exam is not the day to swap in mental arithmetic. Same tools, same comfort zone.
- Sketch the setup before you plug numbers in. On long problems, write down which pieces are P / r / t / M, or which column is favorable versus total, before touching the calculator. The typos that cost points usually happen on step 1.
- Answer every question — then flag and come back. ALEKS lets you move around; a hard question isn't worth 10 minutes when four easier questions are still ahead. Do the whole pass, then revisit anything you flagged.
